چکیده
We report the results of new XMM-Newton observations middle-aged ($\sim$10$^5$ yr) radio pulsar PSR J1740+1000 carried out in 2017-2018. These long pointings ($\sim$530 ks) show that non-thermal emission, well described by a power-law spectrum with photon index $\Gamma=1.80\pm0.17$, is pulsed $\sim$30% fraction above 2 keV. The thermal emission can be fit sum two blackbodies temperatures $kT_1=70\pm4$ eV, $kT_2=137\pm7$ $R_1=5.4_{-0.9}^{+1.3}$ km and $R_2=0.70_{-0.13}^{+0.15}$ (for distance 1.2 kpc). found no evidence for absorption lines as those observed shorter ($\sim$67 this 2006. X-ray components peak anti-phase none them seen to coincide phase pulse. This, coupled small difference radii components, disfavors an interpretation which dipolar polar cap heated magnetospheric backward-accelerated particles. Comparison other thermally-emitting isolated neutron stars spectra shows ratios $T_2$/$T_1$ $R_2$/$R_1$ are similar objects different classes. values cannot reproduced simple temperature distributions, such caused field, indicating presence more complicated maps.

Magnetar-like X-ray Bursts from a Rotation-powered Pulsar, Psr J1119–6127
Two energetic hard X-ray bursts from the rotation-powered pulsar PSRJ1119−6127 recently triggered the Fermi and Swift space observatories. We have performed in-depth spectral and temporal analyses of these two events. Our extensive searches in both observatories’ data for lower luminosity bursts uncovered 10 additional events from the source. We report here on the timing and energetics of the ...
متن کاملDiscovery of hard non - thermal pulsed X - ray emission from the anomalous X - ray pulsar 1 E 1841 - 045
We report the discovery of non-thermal pulsed X-ray/soft γ-ray emission up to ∼ 150 keV from the anomalous X-ray pulsar AXP 1E 1841-045 located near the centre of supernova remnant Kes 73 using RXTE PCA and HEXTE data. The morphology of the double-peaked pulse profile changes rapidly with energy from 2 keV up to ∼ 8 keV, above which the pulse shape remains more or less stable. The pulsed spectr...
متن کاملNon-thermal X-ray Emission from Supernova Remnants
Recent studies of narrow, X-ray synchrotron radiating filaments surrounding young supernova remnants indicate that magnetic fields strengths are relatively high, B ∼ 0.1 mG, or even higher, and that diffusion is close to the Bohm limit. I illustrate this using Cas A as an example. Also older remnants such as RCW 86 appear to emit X-ray synchrotron radiation, but the emission is more diffuse, an...
متن کاملPulsar Wind Nebulae and the Non-thermal X-Ray Emission of Millisecond Pulsars
The non-thermal, non-pulsed X-ray emission of MSPs is investigated. As in young pulsars, MSPs emit a relativistic wind, which interacting with the interstellar medium and/or a binary companion can significantly contribute to the non-pulsed emission of these pulsars. An application and extension of a simple model developed for young pulsars is applied to the old recycled MSP B1957+20. It is foun...
متن کاملOrigin of Thermal and Non-Thermal Hard X-ray Emission from the Galactic Center
We analyse new results of Chandra and Suzaku which found a flux of hard X-ray emission from the compact region around Sgr A (r∼ 100 pc). We suppose that this emission is generated by accretion processes onto the central supermassive blackhole when an unbounded part of captured stars obtains an additional momentum. As a result a flux of subrelativistic protons is generated near the Galactic cent...
